Murder investigation launched in South Yorkshire after a man's body found in a property

Police have launched a murder investigation in Doncaster after a man was found to have died from internal injuries.

Emergency services were called to a property in James Street in the town at around 7.45am on Monday where the body of a 38-year-old man was found.

A post mortem examination concluded he had died as a result of internal injuries so South Yorkshire Police is treating his death as suspicious.

A murder investigation is underway and officers are carrying out enquiries in the local community.

Earlier this week, a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and a 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault. They have both been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The force is now appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious or has information that could help officers to contact them on 101 or to email [email protected] quoting incident number 175 of 15 May 2017.
