Murdered pensioner suffered multiple injuries, police say

POLICE investigating the murder of a 68-year-old grandfather have revealed he died of multiple injuries.

Pensioner Clement Desmier was discovered in his semi-detached home on Rowlestone Rise, Bradford, after what detectives believe was a botched robbery. The musician, known as Butch, was found sitting in a chair with a pillow over his head.

Detectives are hunting two men seen acting suspiciously in Mr Desmier’s garden, around 3am on Thursday.

A neighbour told the Yorkshire Post they had seen the men near his house late on Wednesday night and noticed that the lights were on and he hadn’t left the house the following day.

Police have renewed their appeal for information. Det Supt Mark Ridley said: “Inquiries are ongoing and as part of that we will be visiting homes on the Ravenscliffe estate to carry out door to door appeals for information as well as to distribute appeal posters.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
