Officers hunt for occupants who fled after a car crashed into a shop in Bradford

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car failed to stop for officers and crashed into a shop before the occupants fled the scene.

At about 3.50am on Sunday a white Volkswagen Golf GTi was seen by police driving erratically in Killinghall Road at Bradford.

Officers requested the vehicle to stop, but it continued along Leeds Old Road and then back towards Killinghall Road, where it left the road and crashed into a shop a short time later.

The two occupants ran off and are thought to be in their 20s with one wearing a grey hoodie.

Sergeant Andrew Gudgeon, of the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support team, said: "Our enquiries into this incident are continuing, but we believe people will have seen this vehicle driving erratically around the area before it left the road and collided with the shop.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen two males of similar description running from the Killinghall Road area at that time or anyone who many have information as to who the occupants were."
