One man stabbed, another attacked by bull terrier on Sheffield bus

ONE man was stabbed and another was bitten by a dog during an unprovoked attack on passengers travelling on a bus in Sheffield.

Police are hunting a man and a woman who had a brown Staffordshire bull terrier with them during the attack on the X30 (Handsworth) TM Travel bus heading out of Sheffield onto the Parkway.

A 63-year-old man suffered a broken pelvis and stab wound to his arm and a 55-year-old man suffered a cut to his neck and dog bite to his arm.

The incident happened at around 9pm on Thursday June 16, but police only released details today.

A man and a woman, who are believed to have got on the bus at Arundel Gate, attacked their victims before jumping off the bus and heading across the Parkway in the direction of Park Hill flats.

The offenders are described as being aged in their early 20s

A police spokesman said: “This incident appears to have been unprovoked and resulted in both men receiving nasty injuries.

“We have carried out extensive enquiries, including reviewing CCTV and interviewing potential witnesses, however this has not led us to a positive identification of the suspects.

“It happened on the night that England played Wales in the Euros and we are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

“Were you on the X30 bus that night or did you see or hear anything suspicious? If so, please contact 101 quoting incident 1201 of June 16 2016.”
