Pair deny kidnap and murder bid

A man and a teenage boy have denied the attempted murder and kidnap of a woman found in a distressed state in woodland in Huddersfield.

Marcin Kasprzak, 25, from Huddersfield, and the 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, entered the not guilty pleas at Bradford Crown Court.

Kasprzak also denied a charge of possessing a weapon designed or adapted to discharge a noxious liquid, gas or other thing.

The pair were charged with the offences after Michalina Lewandowska, 27, was spotted by a motorist in a dishevelled state near the Woodsome Hall Golf Club in Fenay Bridge, Huddersfield, early on May 29.

She was suffering from minor injuries and received medical treatment.

The offences are alleged to have taken place on May 28.

The defendants appeared in the dock with a Polish interpreter.

Kasprzak, who was wearing a green T-shirt and blue jeans, and the teenager, in a red jumper and blue tracksuit bottoms, spoke only to confirm their names and enter their not guilty pleas.

They were remanded in custody and told to reappear before the court for a further hearing on September 12.

A trial has been listed to begin on November 28 and is expected to last three weeks.
