Pensioner chased by a man with a cricket bat in Skipton

A man in his 70s had to have hospital treatment after being chased and hit with a cricket bat in North Yorkshire.

Police say a 50-year-old man chased him before striking him with a cricket bat. The victim ran into a house nearby on Greenfield Street and later received treatment at hospital.

The suspect was arrested, taken into custody for questioning and has been released under investigation.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which was on Friday June 30 at around 8.30pm.
