The woman, from Upland Crescent in Gledhow, was targeted by the masked men on Sunday night, West Yorkshire Police said.

The victim was woken by the men at around 7.30pm after going to bed early.

She was woken by the first man dragging her out of bed and then a second man joined him and they demanded money from her.

As she tried to get downstairs the suspects pushed her aside as they left the property.

The victim did not suffer any serious injuries, according to the force, but she was kept in hospital overnight as a precaution.

Detective Sergeant Cherry Webster, from North East Leeds CID, said: “The victim has been left understandably shaken by what is a despicable crime.

“It was still quite early in the evening when the incident took place and I would ask anyone who was in the area of Upland Crescent and who may have seen anyone matching the descriptions of the suspects to get in touch.”

The suspects, who were both wearing face coverings, are both thought to be medium built, black males. One is described around 6ft tall and 30 years of age with the other smaller at 5ft 8in and who was wearing a baseball cap.
