Pictures from Brighouse town centre after car crash causes 'bedlam'

Brighouse town centre has been described as 'bedlam' after a 'car collision' caused a police incident.

Road closures were put in place in Brighouse after a serious car crash around 1am this morning.

Roads including the Ludensheid Link and Bradford Road were closed off by police cordon, while emergency services dealt with the recovery.

Since lockdown, Commercial Street, which runs through Brighouse, has seen development through road works, and has been aligned with road barriers for three weeks according to shop keepers.

Beverly Brook, 63, shop assistant at Brighouse RSPCA, on Commercial Street, said: "We're an animal charity and have only reopened within the past two weeks, so this incident, coupled with the road barriers, have been frustrating.

"I hope the people involved within the incident are OK, but the Commercial Street has been bedlam."

Here are some pictures of today's incident which police have described as a road traffic collision.
