Police appeal after train conductor is assaulted

A TRAIN conductor was assaulted by a passenger after repeatedly telling him to take his feet off the seat in the carriage.

The 24-year-old from Keighley was pushed hard in the shoulder by the male passenger as he and a companion got off the train at Shipley.

He had previously asked the two men travelling on the Leeds and Bradford Forster Square service to remove their feet from the seats several times.

British Transport Police are now appealing for information about the incident, which took place at about 3.15pm on April 27. Pc David Smith said: “This was a cowardly assault on a member of staff, who was simply trying to do his job.”
