Police CCTV appeal after Mulberry handbags stolen from York shop

Police have issued a CCTV appeal after the theft of designer handbags from a shop in York.

It happened at the Mulberry shop on Swinegate when a man entered the store at 4.29pm on Friday, December 22.

He took two items from an open display before leaving the store without offering payment.

A small red handbag with ostrich skin and long gold chain, valued at £397, was taken.

The man also took a pouch in orange and black zig-zag with an “L” shaped zip, valued at £137. The zig-zag is described as looking like an “M”.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman today said: "Officers are asking for the public’s help to identify the man shown in the images as he may have important information that could assist the investigation."
