Police hunting Doncaster shop raider issue CCTV image of suspect

POLICE investigating a burglary at a shop in the Conisbrough area of Doncaster have released a CCTV image of man they would like to identify.

A substantial amount of cash was stolen during a burglary at Booze Barn on Church Street, Conisbrough, which happened overnight between Easter Monday (April 6) last year and the following day.

The burglary was reported to police when a member of staff arrived for work on the Tuesday and discovered the front shutter and glass-panelled door had been damaged.

Officers reviewed CCTV footage, which shows a man returning to the property several times over almost three hours, where he uses a variety of different instruments to break in.

Det Cons Chris Lindley said: “We recognise this burglary occurred over eight months ago and our initial enquiries led us to believe a particular person was responsible.

“However, following a number of financial checks and work with another police force, the focus of the investigation has changed and we need to identify the person in the CCTV footage.”
