Police investigating reports of man with gun and hammer in Bradford

Police are investigating two incidents in a city centre after reports of a man wielding a gun and a hammer.

A report was received of a male with a gun and a hammer in Centenary Square, Bradford, at about 7.33pm on Saturday June 20 .

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

The man was reported to have walked towards the Alhambra and a description was passed which led to a man being located and searched by police to no gain.

At 7.50pm police received a call from a shop on Sunbridge Road, where a disturbance had occurred and a male was reported to have ran off with what appeared to be a gun.

A 38-year-old man arrested in connection with these incidents has been bailed pending further enquiries, police said.

Enquiries suggest these incidents are connected and police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed either to contact them on 101 or via the West Yorkshire Police website.
