Police officers 'doused in petrol' in assault in Hull

A man has been charged with assaulting emergency service workers after an attack in which police officers were 'doused in petrol'.

The alleged assault occurred on Anlaby Road, Hull, yesterday (Tuesday) after two officers challenged a man seen acting suspiciously.

The officers had liquid believed to be petrol poured over them, Humberside Police said.

Radoslaw Baczak, 28, of Mayfield Street, Hull, was charged in connection with the incident and was due to appear before Hull Magistrates Court today charged with going equipped to steal and two counts of assaulting a police officer.
