The burglary took place at the 78-year-old victim's home in the Skircoat Green area between October 11 and November 10.

It is believed the men had done some tree work at the property and may have called at other homes in the area.

Detective Inspector Allan Raw, of Calderdale District CID, said: "It may be that these men were legitimately working in the area and were not connected to the burglary but we need to identify them and speak to them at the earliest opportunity.

"If those men recognise themselves, I would ask them to contact us as soon as possible.

"We are also keen to speak to anyone who may have been approached by these men offering to do tree work or who has any information that could assist in identifying them.

"We'd also ask that people remain vigilant about anyone who approaches them at home offering to do work. People should only deal with businesses they can confirm are legitimate with a quote agreed before work starts."

Anyone with information is asked to call Halifax Police Station via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
