Police release plate number of 'racing' car involved in serious hammer attack

Police have released the registration plate of a "racing" car that was involved in a serious hammer attack on a man.

Officers were called at about 3.40pm to woodland off Scholebrook Lane on Monday, April 27.

A man in his 20s was found with serious injuries.

He had been attacked with hammers.

He was taken to hospital.

His injuries are not considered life threatening.

The suspects are believed to have been racing cars in Pudsey before the attack.

Police said that they were driving a red Mitsubishi Shogun car, and are thought to have been racing another red vehicle around Black Carr Woods.

The Shogun was found by officers after the attack,

Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who saw the vehicle, which bore the registration plate N48 DAG, driving around the Holmewood area in the time leading up to it.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell, of Bradford District Police, said: "Following further enquiries I am now satisfied this was a targeted attack with no wider threat to the community.

"We believe people will have seen the Shogun driving around Holmewood in the time leading up to the incident and I would urge anyone with information about it to contact the police.”
