A temporary closure notice was made on Saturday (March 4) on the S1 Food Bar in Fitzalan Square, preventing access to it over the weekend.

An application for a full closure order under the Anti-social behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 has been made to the courts. The order will be considered at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday March 16. Until then, the takeaway must remain closed.

The Anti-Social Behaviour Team have applied for the closure order on behalf of the Sheffield West Neighbourhood Team following reports of anti-social behaviour in the local area, alleged drug dealing on the premises and the potential for vulnerable children to be placed at risk. They continue to work alongside partners, including Sheffield City Council, to tackle reports of anti-social behaviour in the Fitzalan Square area.

If the order is granted, the business could be closed for an initial three months and then possibly longer.
