Prosecutor, Stephen Littlewood said police noticed a man from number 17 Recreation Mount was showing a “lot of interest” in police activity.

Police searched that house and found 37 cannabis plants with an estimated yield value of £14,134.

Judge Robin Mairs jailed Rashid for 18 months and handed Nicholson a ten-month jail sentence, suspended for 12 months.

Judge Mairs said he was satisfied Nicholson was “being run by” Rashid.

Shufqat Khan, mitigating for Rashid, said his client owed a drug debt and committed the offences after being pressured and threatened by a man called Michael.

The court heard Nicholson started using cannabis aged 15 and uses the drug daily.
