Police warn Yorkshire residents of sophisticated scam

Police have warned Yorkshire residents of a sophisticated scam targeting the region.

The scam caller rings the victim and claims to be a police officer.

The scammer then informs the victim that a relative has been arrested in possession of their bank card and they need to transfer money to a 'police safe account' to protect the funds.

However, police confirmed this is a scam.
