A Prison Service spokesman said: “HMP Doncaster prisoner Adam Wileman was found hanging in his cell at approximately 8.15pm on Monday August 22.

“Staff attempted resuscitation and paramedics were called but he was pronounced dead at approximately 9pm.

“As with all deaths in custody, the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will conduct an investigation.”

Last year, there were 58 apparently self-inflicted deaths in prisons in England and Wales, Ministry of Justice figures showed.
