Road closed for hours as police try coax man down from lamppost in Scarborough
A main road in Scarborough was closed by police for several hours after a man climbed up a lamppost.
It happened in Northway at around 9pm on Friday, July 15.
The fire service were also called to the scene.
Steve Dickinson, who was in Craft Bar, took a video of the scene and expressed his disbelief.
Mr Dickson said the police were able to coax him down after "around four to five hours."
The man did not appear to need any medical treatment, he added.
North Yorkshire Police have been contacted for comment.
