Schools issue warning as police hunt half-naked man in blue car targeting young girls in Selby, North Yorkshire

Police are hunting a half-naked man in a blue car who is alleged to be targeting school girls in a North Yorkshire town.

A number of schools across Selby have written to parents expressing their concerns about a man approaching young girls in the town in a blue Peugeot.

The man is alleged to stop the girls and ask them for directions.

It is when the girls speak to him they notice he is not wearing any clothing from the waist down.

The letter to parents, seen by The Yorkshire Post, says: "North Yorkshire Police have shared with schools in Selby that they are having concerns with a blue Peugeot approaching young girls, aged 13 and 14, and asking them for directions.

"When the girls have spoken to him, they have realised the alleged perpetrator is not wearing anything from the waist down.

"The alleged perpetrator is described as being male, in his thirties, with dark hair and a dark beard.

"All instances have occurred in the Selby Town area at or around school closing times."
