A KIDNAPPER armed himself with a taser before locking his terrified ex in his Sheffield flat while making threats to kill her.
Levi Solomon, 51, punched his frightened victim, who is in her 20s, after getting her back to his flat and refusing to let her leave.
The kidnapper threatened his ex-partner with more violence but after a number of hours he fell asleep and she was able to escape and call the police.
Sheffield Crown Court court heard Solomon showed up at his former partner’s home on 26 November, 2015, and demanded she get in his car.
Fearing for her life the woman agreed and he drove her to his home, where he held her.
Solomon appeared in court, on Wednesday, where he pleaded guilty to kidnap and possession of a firearm.
He had been remanded into custody and will be sentenced on Monday 11 July.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Christopher Blincow said: “This woman has been exceptionally brave in coming forward to tell of her awful ordeal at Solomon’s hands.
“After a number of hours trapped in his apartment, Solomon fell asleep and his victim was able to flee and phone police. When officers arrived, she was hysterical and terrified.
“Domestic abuse in any form is despicable and we will not tolerate any individual seeking to harm, intimidate or control another person.
“I hope this result offers some comfort to Solomon’s victim, who can hopefully now begin to put this nasty incident behind her.”
