Shopkeeper punched in the head during Harden robbery

POLICE are hunting two raiders after a violent robbery at a shop in a West Yorkshire village.

Two males with their faces covered walked into the shop in Wilsden Road, Harden near Bingley at about 8.40pm yesterday and one of the suspects entered the counter area and punched the male shopkeeper, while the other pulled the till out of an electrical socket.

The males then left the shop.

The shopkeeper suffered swelling to his head, but was otherwise uninjured.

One of the suspects is about 5ft 9ins tall and wore dark clothing and a hooded top which had fur around it.

Both males were wearing gloves.

West Yorkshire Police said extra patrols will be carried out in the area today and officers will be available to speak to anyone with any policing concerns.
