Student ‘critical’ after attack in Leeds centre

A STUDENT was “critical” in hospital today after a 3.30am fight in the centre of Leeds.

The 19-year-old suffered severe injuries after being attacked in Albion Street on Wednesday morning.

His parents have raced to his bedside at Leeds General Infirmary from their home in London.

Five men have been arrested on suspicion of assault and affray.

Police cordoned off a large area of Albion Street, and some shops there were closed for business yesterday.

Police would not comment on reports that the men they arrested were also students.

Detectives were today examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras.
