Teacher and ex-Leeds Utd Academy footballer jailed for sex offences against pupils

A court heard Dominique Krief first preyed on the pupils after taking them to his home when they were aged 14.

Krief, a former Leeds United acadamy footballer who has also played semi professionally for Harrogate Town and Farsley Celtic, continued to meet one of the victims where sexual activity took place in his car.

Krief, of Hammerton Drive, Garforth, also forced himself on a fellow teacher in a sports room.

Philip Standfast told the court Krief grabbed the woman in a sports room and tried to kiss her. He then told her he wasn’t going to let go of her until she told him she wanted to have sex with him.

The attack only ended when Krief was disturbed by a pupil knocking on the door,

Krief, 30, pleaded guilty to six offences of sexual activity with a child and one of sexual assault.

At his sentencing hearing yesterday a judge read a letter from Krief, who was engaged at the time of the offences, which stated: “I took my dream life for granted and selfishly wanted more no matter who got hurt along the way.

“I accept full responsibility for my actions and the offences and make no excuses.

“I am full of guilt, shame, remorse and utter disgust at my behaviour.”

The court heard Krief had a responsibility for working with vulnerable pupils.

The offences came to light when one of the girls told a psychiatrist that it was the reason behind problems she had been suffering from.

Jailing Krief, judge Christopher Batty said: “You were sexually attracted to them and you abused your position as a teacher in that school in order to get close to them with only one thing on your mind - your sexual gratification. It mattered not to you that they were your pupils. It mattered not that they were aged 14.”
