Teenagers arrested over car theft in York

Four teenagers have been arrested in connection with the theft of a vehicle in York.

North Yorkshire Police were contacted by a member of the public at around 5.20am yesterday, reporting that there was a suspicious vehicle on Common Lane in the Dunnington area of the city, and that it was being driven without any lights on.

Officers found the car, a silver Vauxhall Corsa, parked on Common Lane. There were no occupants in the vehicle but there were four youths nearby and questioned them.

They were questioned before being arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle.

All four youths, two aged 14 and two aged 15, have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
