Third man charged over machete gang confrontation at Leeds Elland Road car dealership

A third man has been charged over an incident in which a gang armed with machetes stormed a Leeds car dealership.

Staff were left terrified when the gang chased four men into the VW garage on Elland Road, near Leeds United’s stadium, on October 31.

A confrontation followed, but no-one was injured before all those involved fled.

Lee James, aged 34, of Gelderd Road, has been charged with violent disorder and was due to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday).

Peter James, aged 61, of Gildersome Lane, Gildersome, and Samuel James, aged 54, of no fixed address, have already been charged with violent disorder.

Five other men remain on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives say they are continuing their investigation into the incident and seeking other suspects.
