Nigel Bennetto, 37, had thousands of fake DVDs at his home in Carlton Husthwaite, Thirsk, when police raided it.

Bennetto created Amazon seller accounts using false company details to hide his identity from the firm.

To conceal his phone number he hired telephone lines from another company, which appeared to be in different locations.

He used different computers and BT Home Hubs to create six seller accounts through which he sold counterfeit DVDs imported from China.

Bennetto, who admitted fraud at a previous hearing, was made the subject of a Confiscation Order and told to repay £464,838 or face a prison term of up to three years in addition to his existing sentence.

Acting Det Insp Jonathan Rowland of North Yorkshire Police said: “I am very pleased with the outcome of this investigation, with the court recognising the significant financial gain made by Nigel Bennetto as a result of his fraudulent activities.”
