Trial date set for pizza driver murder accused

TWO people charged with the murder of a Sri Lankan pizza delivery driver in Sheffield will face trial next summer.

Shamraze Khan, 25, of Southey Crescent, Sheffield, and a 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court today accused of killing Thavisha Lakindu Pereis. A trial date has now been set for June 4, though neither defendant has yet entered a plea.

The body of 25-year-old Thavisha, who was on his last shift with Domino’s Pizza before leaving to start a new job, was found slumped in the car having suffered fatal stab wounds at 10.30pm on October 27.
