Two arrested in Skipton after being found with bags of class A drugs

Officers have arrested two men after they were found in possession of class A drugs.

The arrests were made yesterday (Wednesday), when an officer on patrol noticed a VW Golf on Carleton Road and became suspicious.

The car stopped on Keighley Road and one man got out, before the Golf was driven off.

The officer detained the first man, before radioing for patrols raising the alarm to the car which had just left the scene. The car was stopped a few minutes later and its driver was also detained.

North Yorkshire Police said both men, aged 42 and 49 and from Skipton, have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A substances after several bags containing suspected drugs were both found on them.

Both have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
