Two jailed over rape, humiliation and abuse of vulnerable girl, 15

TWO men have been jailed over the rape and abuse of a vulnerable 15-year-old girl.

Faisar Younas, 23, and Mohammed Ali Rehman, 26, preyed on the teenager, plying her with alcohol before subjecting her to a “humiliating catalogue of abuse” at several addresses in Dewsbury.

Judge Scott Wolstenholme branded the assaults “humiliating and shocking”, condemning the men who had preyed on a “vulnerable, defenceless young girl” in a sustained attack which they filmed.

He sentenced Rehman, of Tanhouse Street, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury, who changed his plea to guilty to three counts of rape and one of attempted rape during his trial at Leeds Crown Court, to 11 years in prison.

Younas, of Textile Street, Dewsbury, was jailed for six years after admitting sexual activity with a child and other offences which saw him given a further two years.

The court was told the schoolgirl, of Asian background, and a friend, had been drinking before they went to Rehman’s house to buy some cannabis in March 2010.

Left alone with Rehman and at least four other men, she was taken to a bedroom where he raped her.

She was moved to Younas’s house where she was given more alcohol. Rehman forced her to perform a sex act while she agreed to sexual activity with Younas but because she was only 15, he was charged with sexual activity with a child.

She was then taken in a taxi driven by Larasab Hussain to his house. It was here the group, including Rehman and Hussain but not Younas, filmed her being abused.

Sharon Beattie, prosecuting, said: “She is clearly plainly distressed. She says ‘Let me go’, while Rehman is heard saying, ‘We are going to shut you up’, while laughing and singing.”

Judge Wolstenholme described the video footage as “shocking”. “It showed you mocking and humiliating her and apparently enjoying her obvious distress,” he said.

He said the video could have been used for “further sexual gratification” as well to blackmail the girl as Rehman told her he would leak it on the internet if she talked.

In a victim impact statement, she said: “They humiliated and abused me and took away my virginity. They’re disgusting. I will never get the memories to go away, but I wish I could.”

Det Insp Andy Leonard, of Kirklees CID, said: “By carrying out the acts they performed on such a young and vulnerable girl, the defendants have disgusted the investigating officers on the case. This case should show how West Yorkshire Police will vigorously investigate any cases of exploitation of children.”

Hussain, who has admitted sexual assault, will be sentenced on July 4.
