Two missing schoolgirls found safe in Wakefield

TWO schoolgirls who had been missing since Tuesday were today found “safe and well” in the Wakefield area, police have confirmed.

An appeal for information was launched after Gemma Randall, from Meltham, and Bethany Knapton, from Holmfirth were reported missing on Tuesday and officers were increasingly concerned for the their welfare.

The girls, both aged 15, had been seen on CCTV at Wakefield Bus Station at 10.31pm yesterday.

A police spokesman said this afternoon: “Both have been located safe and well in the Wakefield area. Media and members of the public are thanked for their assistance in the matter.”
