Video: Robber threatens cashier with knife during Leeds newsagent raid

CCTV footage of a robber subjecting a cashier to a terrifying knifepoint attack at a Leeds newsagent has today been released by police.

British Transport Police released the footage as part of their investigation into the incident at Brooks newsagent in Neville Street, near Leeds railway station.

In the footage, the man is seen holding a knife against the throat of the female cashier and demanding she open the till.

He then grabbed some money and ran out of the shop, threatening to stab the cashier if she followed him.

British Transport Police previously released CCTV images of a man they wanted to speak to in connection with the attack in the hope that someone would recognise him.

No-one has yet been arrested and officers are now releasing the footage to encourage anyone who may have information about the incident at 12.15pm on November 15 to come forward.

Detective Constable Jason Ridgway of British Transport Police said: “If you recognise the man in the footage, please contact us, this was a frightening attack which has left the victim extremely shaken and it is vital that we trace the person responsible.”
