Wakefield murder-kidnap accused in court

A 19-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering two women who were found stabbed in a Wakefield flat.

Ahmad Otak appeared at Leeds Crown Court by video link from prison charged with the murders of Kimberley Frank, 17, and Samantha Sykes, 18.

Otak, of Linton Road, Wakefield, is also accused of the kidnap and false imprisonment of Miss Frank’s sister, Elisa Frank, and possession of a large kitchen knife in a public place.

The bodies of Kimberley Frank and Miss Sykes were discovered at the flat in Barden Road, in the Eastmoor area of Wakefield, in March.

No pleas were entered at today’s hearing and the case was adjourned until 5 October.
