Officers are seeking the men who have been spraying the tags “KOBE” and “OI” all over rail areas in West Yorkshire, predominantly in the Neville Hill depot in Osmondthorpe.

Detective Inspector Glen Alderson said the British Transport Police take graffiti of this kind extremely seriously, but despite extensive enquiries to identify the person responsible they have not yet apprehended the culprit.

“Some people consider graffiti to be art but in reality it is nothing more than selfish vandalism that makes people fearful of their surroundings and costs the railway industry thousands of pounds to clean up,” he said.

“Unfortunately the costs associated with the clean up mean it is ultimately the fare-paying passenger who pays for this damage, which is not acceptable

“I would urge anyone who recognises the man pictured, or knows his whereabouts, to get in touch.”

Alderson said he hoped that by releasing these photos someone may recognise the man pictured, who they believe may be able to help their enquiries.
