Warehouse blaze sparks commuter chaos in Sheffield

Nursery Street, near the Derek Dooley Way section of the city’s inner ring road, is closed both ways between Spitalfields and Wicker Lane due to a large fire at a warehouse.

Around 30 firefighters were called to the derelict building at around 6.30am to find it “well alight.”

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “Firefighters are using main jets and the CARP aerial appliance to tackle the blaze.”

Meanwhile, the A621 Bramall Lane was also temporarily closed after a car hit a pedestrian, but reopened at around 10am.
