Warning over man on the run after dodging court appearance in Sheffield

Members of the public have been warned not to approach a man who went on the run after failing to appear at Sheffield Crown Court in connection with blackmail and robbery offences.

Shaun Chamberlain, 30, from Bolton upon Dearne, was due in court on October 7 last year and a warrant was issued for his arrest following his no-show.

Police say a “number of attempts” to locate him have drawn a blank and they are now appealing for information regarding his whereabouts.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “Members of the public are advised not to approach Shaun Chamberlain but to contact police.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the South Yorkshire force’s 101 phone number, quoting log reference 617 of September 10 last year.
