Woman arrested after 'targeted' shooting in Girlington in Bradford

A woman has been arrested after a 'targeted' shooting in Bradford.

It happened at about 9.50pm in Blythe Avenue in Girlington when a person shot at a car.

No one was injured but the victim's car was found with bullet holes.

The suspect, who was in a black Seat Leon, drove off from the scene.

The car was later found by officers.

A 29-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident.

She remains in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell, of Bradford District, said: “We believe this was a targeted attack involving individuals known to each other.

"Thankfully no one was injured but the consequences could have easily been much worse.

“The use of firearms on our streets is extremely concerning and I would appeal for anyone who has information on this incident to contact police so we can take all of those responsible off our streets.

“Extensive enquiries remain ongoing today and there will be an increased policing presence in the area while investigations are carried out and to provide reassurance to our communities.”
