Woman attacked during robbery at Leeds shop

A SHOP worker was repeatedly punched during a robbery in the Yeadon area of Leeds.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident at KC’s Express mini-market, in Kirk Lane, Yeadon.

Police have release CCTV images of two suspects from the robbery. It happened just before 9pm on Monday February 22, but police only released details today.

Two men entered the shop and one kept watch at the door while the other vaulted the counter and punched the 46-year-old female member of staff about the head.

He demanded she open the till and punched her again before snatching cash from her hand and leaving the store.

Detective Constable Dave Armstrong, of Leeds District Crime Team, said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim who was working alone at the time.

“She was treated at hospital after the attack and fortunately was not seriously injured.

“Although the suspects disguised their faces, their clothing is visible on the CCTV images and I would like to hear from anyone who thinks they know who might have been involved.”
