Woman charged over death of Bradford boy, 4

A WOMAN has been charged with killing a four-year-old boy whose body was found decomposing in a cellar.

Prosecutors announced the charges after a 17-month investigation into the death of the boy discovered at a house in Bradford in September 2011.

The woman, 42, who has not been named, has been charged with manslaughter and preventing the burial of a corpse as well as five counts of neglect.

The Crown Prosecution Service said a 24-year-old man has also been charged with preventing the burial of a corpse. Both the man and the woman will appear before Bradford magistrates on March 12.

The little boy’s body is thought to have laid decomposing in a cellar of the terraced house for up to two years before being discovered by police.

The CPS said the charges came after a “lengthy and complex investigation” by West Yorkshire Police.
