Woman fights back after suspected sex attacker strikes in Leeds

Police are investigating an attempted serious sexual assault on a woman in Leeds yesterday. (June 9)

Officers received a report of a 23-year-old woman having been grabbed by a man just before 6pm and dragged into bushes in Redcote Lane, Kirkstall, near to the metal bridge that runs over the River Aire.

The victim fought back and the man was also disturbed by a man riding past on a bicycle.

The attacker ran off along the riverside path and a woman who was passing by called police.

Police said the attacker was a scruffy looking, 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in skinny white man in his twenties who was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit with a zip-up top.
