Detectives in Kirklees are appealing for witnesses after the incident on Thoresby Drive just after 6pm on Friday, November 6.

The 40-year-old resident was threatened with a screwdriver as three other suspects entered the property, taking the keys to a black Volkswagen Polo, registration FV60 OBW, which was stolen from the driveway.

The thieves also made off with personal items within a black handbag.

All four suspects are believed to have fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.

Detective Constable Richard Brooke, of the Kirklees Robbery Team, said: “This incident has occurred in the early evening whilst the area will still have been relatively busy with people.

“Although it was dark I am certain that someone will have seen the suspects prior to the incident, or leaving the scene in the black VW Polo.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around 6pm, and may have seen anyone matching the suspect’s description to come forward.

“Equally, if anyone saw the vehicle with four occupants after the incident and I would ask that they speak to police. Enquiries are ongoing.”

One suspect is described as a white man, aged around 19 years old, 5ft 8in tall of slim build with short brown dark hair.

He was wearing a dark-coloured zipped jacket with the hood up and gloves.
