Woman’s mobile phone stolen during fit

A woman had her mobile phone stolen after she suffered a fit and fell to the ground in Leeds, police said.

The 34-year-old had got off a bus in Leeds and was walking down the road when she became unwell and collapsed.

After recovering, the woman noticed that her iPhone 4 had been taken from her hand, West Yorkshire Police said.

The victim managed to walk further along the road before an unknown passer-by came to her aid and gave her money to get a taxi home.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened between 11.25 and 11.35 on the morning of Wednesday August 3 as the victim approached the junction of Winrose Grove and Low Grange View.

The stolen iPhone is described as black with a silver trim, with scratches all over it and a chip in the top left side of the screen.

A pin number had also been used to lock the phone, so its functions cannot be accessed without it being unlocked, police added.
