Alfie Gannon, 20, is being hunted by officers from Scotland Yard after a man was shot in the leg in front of his terrified seven-year-old stepson in Bromley, south east London on May 18.

It is claimed that Gannon had an argument with the victim’s brother during the party at a house in Ravenscar Road, and threatened to kill him when he was asked to leave.

He allegedly returned more than five hours later and confronted the 22-year-old victim, shooting him with a semi-automatic pistol. The man has since made a full recovery.

Detective Constable Paul Buckley, from the Met’s Trident command, said: “This was a shocking incident at a child’s birthday party. Understandably both the children and guests at the party where extremely traumatised by the senseless actions of the suspect.

“Trident are today releasing an image of a man wanted in connection with the shooting in the hope that he himself will come forward, or those who may know his whereabouts contact the police.

“I would like to reassure any potential witnesses who may be worried about making contact with police that Trident has extensive expertise in protecting witnesses and there are a range of measures that can be taken to protect you.”

Members of the public have been warned not to approach Gannon.
