Yorkshire man appears in court charged with murder of own father and attempted murder of mother days after Christmas

A Yorkshire man has today appeared in court charged with the murder of his own father and attempted murder of his mother just days after Christmas.

Lukasz David Adam Lukasik, 36, appeared before Leeds Crown Court this morning.

He is charged with murder of his father Jerry Lukasik and the attempted murder of his mother Maria Lukasik at an address in Finkle Street, Selby, on December 29.

He also faces a further charge of assaulting another female family member.

Lukasik appeared via video link from HMP Hull and spoke only to confirm his name, age, address and nationality.

There was no application for bail and the 36 year-old was remanded in custody.

He will next appear before the courts on February 17.

A provisional trial date has been set for July 12.
