Michael Joshua Ward, of Northallerton, appeared before York Magistrates' Court on January 1.

He is charged with three offences including attempting to cause or incite sexual activity with a child on December 1, 2020; attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act on December 1, 2020; and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child on August 30, 2020.

North Yorkshire Police’s Online Abuse and Exploitation Team is investigating the case and they have ensured all necessary safeguarding measures have been put in place.

Ward is due to appear at York Crown Court on February 1.
