POLICE HUNTING a Sheffield barrister wanted in connection with a serious sex assault against a teenage girl will appeal for help on BBC’s Crimewatch tonight.

The show, which will air at 9pm on BBC One, will feature 46-year-old man Desmond Rosario who is wanted in connection with the incident that is alleged to have taken place in the city in October last year.

Rosario failed to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court in June this year and a warrant was issued for his arrest yet despite extensive enquiries, officers have been unable to locate him.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said there is information to suggest that Rosario could be using the alias names David D’Cruz and Desmond David Luc D’Cruz.

Officers also have reason to believe he may be travelling abroad, through Europe and Canada.

Rosario practised as a criminal law barrister in the UK and information received suggests he may be seeking work abroad in a similar field.
