Crocodiles sink teeth into new home

Head animal keeper Steven Dickie has been helping three new arrivals settle into their new home at Tropical World in Roundhay, Leeds.

The three Morelet’s crocodiles have a purpose-built enclosure that offers visitors a ‘walkover’ experience, giving close-up views of the reptiles, which can grow up to nine feet long.

It signals the end of the first phase of a £720,000 refurbishment scheme at the popular attraction which has been funded by Leeds City Council along with a donation from the Ziff family, who are continuing their long-standing patronage of Tropical World which dates back to the 1980s. Said Edward Ziff : “We are delighted to continue our support to Roundhay Park, the Canal Gardens and Tropical World.”
