Crowd gathers for glimpse of Royal Family at castle service

The Queen was joined by her family yesterday as she took part in the traditional Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle.

A crowd of well-wishers gathered outside St George's Chapel to see members of the Royal Family as they arrived for the Mattins service.

The Queen, wearing a long violet coat and matching hat accessorised by a flower, was joined by her children Prince Andrew, Princess Anne and Prince Edward.

The Duke of York's daughters Eugenie and Beatrice were also present, as were the Countess of Wessex and Princess Anne's husband Tim Laurence.

Kimberley Peacock, on holiday from Huddersfield with daughter Madeleine, four, and one-year-old son Elliot, said: "We weren't expecting to see the Queen so close up. It was pretty amazing."
