Crumbs! Boeing full of biscuits touches down in Doncaster to ease Hobnobs crisis
Snack fans have been left sobbing into their tea with supermarket shelves stripped bare of biccies following December’s floods, which wiped out one of the UK’s biggest snack manufacturers.
But Robin Hood has ridden to the rescue by flying in two plane-loads of biscuits to give sweet treat lovers something to get their teeth into.

Dayle Hauxwell, cargo manager, said: “There has been a lot of coverage of Britain’s biscuit shortage following the floods and we are pleased to hear the factories hope to be up and running again this month.
“In the meantime we’ve been delighted to welcome two flights from Emirates full of the nation’s favourite biscuits.
“We’ve welcomed all sorts of different cargo over the years from a pride of lions to last year’s consignment of tea, this time we’ve quite literally ‘taken the biscuit!’”

Ginger Nuts, Hobnobs and Penguin are also among brands produced by the firm.
The flights also mark the first flights from Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo airline, based in Dubai, to Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
